Russia fires at Europe’s largest nuclear plant in Ukraine

Kathmandu, March 4. Russia has attacked the largest nuclear plant in Europe, the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant on Friday. The Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant is located in Ukraine.

Ukrainian president shared a video message saying, “No country other than Russia has ever fired on nuclear power units. This is the first time in our history. In the history of mankind. The terrorist state now resorted to nuclear terror.”

He also said that Moscow wanted to repeat the Chernobyl disaster.

The White House in a statement also revealed that US President Joe Biden has joined Zelenskyy in urging Russia to stop military activities and allow firefighters access to the site.

Dmytro Kuleba, Ukrainian foreign minister tweeted, “If it blows up, it will be 10 times larger than Chornobyl! Russians must IMMEDIATELY cease the fire, allow firefighters, establish a security zone”

The nuclear station supplies around 40% of the country’s nuclear power.
