Kathmandu, March 8. A 11-year-old boy has travelled from Ukraine to Slovakia on his own to escape the Russian invasion.
The boy was carrying a plastic bag, passport and a phone number written on his hand. The Slovakian Interior Ministry said that the child was without any adults and praised his fearlessness.
Volunteers had given him food and drink. Due to the phone number written on his hand and a paper he was carrying, they were able to contact his relatives. His relatives then came to pick him up.
The boy was from Zaporizhzhia in southeast Ukraine and was sent to Slovakia in a train by his mother, according to reports.
The boy’s parents had to stay back in Ukraine to take care of a sick relative.
