Kathmandu, March 9. Ukraine had been requesting states around the world for Soviet-era MiG-29s jets to tackle the Russian attacks.

The United States(US) had approved of NATO countries to provide jets to Ukraine just days before, but the decision could not be fulfilled on the ground.

Poland recently has offered to give 28 MiG-29 fighter jets that can be operated from the Ramstein airbase, the US air force base in Germany. United States, however has denied the offer saying that it might trigger and escalate issues between Russia and NATO countries.

It is reported that European Union also offered to send fighter aircraft to Ukraine. However, it is not clear on which countries made the offer.

The US and other NATO countries have provided Ukraine with military aid like anti-tank weapons, anti-aircraft systems and ammunition among other military needs.
