Kathmandu, March 10. A Russian airstrike has hit a maternity hospital in Ukraine on Wednesday. At least 17 people have been reported to be wounded.
Police and army personnel rushed into the site to evacuate victims.
The courtyard of the maternity hospital had a blast crater extended at least two stories deep.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy expressed his horror on the attack, said “A children’s hospital. A maternity hospital. How did they threaten the Russian Federation? What kind of country is this, the Russian Federation, which is afraid of hospitals, afraid of maternity hospitals, and destroys them?”
He added that the blast trapped children and other people under the rubble.
Regional administration head Oleksiy Kuleba said, “Russia is artificially creating a humanitarian crisis in the Kyiv region, frustrating the evacuation of people and continuing shelling and bombing small communities”. He also revealed that situation is dire in the suburbs and crisis is deepening in Kyviv.
