India’s BJP wins four states in elections

Kathmandu, March 11. India’s Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has won four states -Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Goa and Manipur in the elections results that came out on Thursday.

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has won in one state, Punjab. The party is also the ruling party in Delhi.

The country’s main opposition party Indian National Congress (INC) has lost as the party could not show much presence.

The majority win for BJP is credited to Indian PM Modi as his policies has been effective in the covid pandemic as well. His pro-poor policies and anti-corruption campaigns has managed to win the public. Modi also distributed free vaccines and food for certain sections of the population during the pandemic.

During a victory celebration on Thursday night, Modi said, “We have tried to reach out to the last person in our society with our welfare schemes. We have found ways and means to weed out corruption, and we wish to make India a strong nation.”
