Russia continues attacks on Ukraine, three EU leaders to visit Kyviv

Kathmandu, March 15. Russia has been continuing its attacks on Ukraine. The capital Kyviv has been bombarded with artillery strikes in multi storied buildings.

Reports say that there are dozens of people killed along with rescue efforts from the firefighters.

Amidst the attacks on the Ukrainian capital, three EU leaders are scheduling their visit to Kyviv to demonstrate their support. Prime ministers of Czech Republic, Poland and Slovenia are traveling to Kyviv by train.

Ukrainian president Zelenskyy’s office confirmed the visit on Tuesday but gave no further details.

Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala said in a tweet, “The aim of the visit is to express the European Union’s unequivocal support for Ukraine and its freedom and independence.”

Fiala will be accompanied by Slovenian Prime Minister Janez Janša, Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki and Polish Deputy Prime Minister for security Jaroslaw Kaczynski.

Officials have reported that EU states were informed regarding the trip but did not sanction it; owing to the sensitivity surrounding it.
