Kathmandu, March 16. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has addressed the US Congress on Wednesday.
He made the historic address through a video link. He has requested for a “no fly zone” over Ukraine to stop the Russian attacks. As an alternative, he also asked for air defense systems and aircraft.
He reminded US politicians of the 9/11 attacks and attacks on the Pearl Harbour, explaining that Ukraine has been experiencing those events everyday. He referenced to Martin Luther King’s famous speech and said, “I have a dream, these words are known to each of you – today I can say I have a need. I need to protect the sky”.
He also addressed President Biden in English and said,”I wish you to be the leader of the world. Being the leader of the world means being the leader of peace.”
President Biden is later expected to sign a $800 million military aid to Ukraine.
