Singer Prakash Saput re-releases his song “Pir”
Kathmandu, March 20. Nepali Singer Prakash Saput has re-released his song “Pir” after editing certain scenes. The scenes were cut off due to criticisms that poured in from the audience.
A particular scene of a female combatant who was involved in prostitution has been removed. Singer Saput clarified saying that he felt the particular scene would remain as a thorn in the video. Furthermore he said, “While making creations based on the facts, it is important to keep in mind the views of the Nepali audience, listeners, the group/community and the society as a whole.”
Additionally he said that the video has been an eye opener.
The video was edited considering the dignity and self-esteem of the group concerned and the audiences’ criticisms. Saput said that ‘Pir’ has inspired him to come out with more new creations.
He also sparked upon a debate whether an artist should narrow their creativity in their craft or not. However, he has asked the audiences and concerned people not to politicize and pull the matter further in the newly released song.
The edited version of the song was re-released on Saturday and is trending on #1 on YouTube. It has garnered more than 94k views.
