US and EU hold high level dialogue on Russia
Kathmandu, March 31. The United States (US) and the European Union (EU) delegations held their first high level talks on Wednesday. They held the talks to discuss the matter of Russia and steps to further isolate the state.
The Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs Victoria Nuland led the delegation from US, whereas European External Action Service Deputy Secretary General for Political Affairs Enrique Mora led the delegation for EU.
The joint statement read,”The European Union and the United States held today in Washington, DC, the first US-EU High-Level Dialogue on Russia…. They also discussed additional steps to isolate Russia further from the US and EU economies and the international financial system [and] to impose severe costs on Russia for its actions.”
Furthermore, the statement added that both sides have agreed to hold another high level dialogue on Russia in late 2022.
