Sri Lankan President Rajapaksa appoints 17 ministers

Kathmandu, April 18. Sri Lankan President Gotabaya Rajapaksa designated 17 Cabinet Ministers on Monday, despite anti-government protests from the public.
The ministers were sworn in to carry out proper functioning of the administration. Further, the Cabinet has some new ministers along with eight former ministers.
Moreover, it is the third time that the Sri Lankan president has carried out a cabinet reshuffle.
The country is suffering from a worse economic crisis in decades, with fuel shortages and increased prices of commodities. Increased public protests have been taking place demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa and President Gotabaya Rajapaksa.
