Kathmandu, April 22. President of Maldives Ibrahim Mohammed Solih issued an order on Thursday that bans protests against India.

“India Out” protests have been taking place in Maldives since months.

The order is entitled “Stopping Campaigns that Incite Hatred Against Various Countries Under Different Slogans”. It has mention of the “India Out” protests and reveals that it is an organized protest to disrupt relations between the two countries.

Further, President Solih has called for all authorities to implement the order under prevalent legal provisions.

The order was carried out sensing a threat to Maldives’ national security. Moreover, the order states that it is the responsibility of the country to provide security to the diplomats posted in the country.

The India Out campaign claims that India has posted its military in Maldives, to which the Maldives government denies.
