Kathmandu, April 22. In the upcoming local level election, members of the Dalit community have asked for inclusive and proportional participation of their community. They have demanded so on the basis of the rights ensured by the Constitution of Nepal.
The Samata Foundation, in a statement released on Thursday, urged political parties to create an environment conducive to contesting people’s representatives from the Dalit community for senior positions. Further, they suggested to evaluate experiences of the community people and their performance over the previous five years.
