Indian PM Modi visits Jammu and Kashmir, inaugurates multiple projects

Kathmandu, April 24. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has made his visit to Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday. This is his first visit post New Delhi taking direct control of the region in 2019.
Additionally, Modi inaugurated the Banihal-Qazigund road tunnel and multiple other projects. The total estimated investments in the region are amounted to around INR 200 billion.
Moreover, locals and other officials were gathered in Palli, Jammu for Modi’s speech. The event was held under tight security.
Modi said, addressing to Kashmiri youth, “Let me assure the youth of the valley that they will not face difficulties and tribulations that their parents and grandparents faced.”
Kashmir is divided between India and Pakistan since 1989. Both the countries claim the region to be theirs in entirety.
