Indian PM Modi to visit Nepal for Buddha Jayanti

Kathmandu, May 3. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Nepal on the occasion of Buddha Jayanti.

According to The Hindu, Modi is planning to visit Nepal ahead of Buddha Jayanti (May 16). The Indian PM’s visit is set to last for only a few hours and he will be visiting Lumbini, birthplace of Gautam Buddha. PM Deuba will meet his counterpart Modi at Lumbini.

Various sources reveal that arrangements are being made for the same.

Further, Modi’s visit comes a month after PM Deuba visited the southern neighbor a month earlier. It is also Modi’s first visit to Nepal after being re-elected in 2019.

Modi is currently in Europe for his three nation trip and will be visiting Japan during May end for the Quad Summit.
