Russia to celebrate Victory Day amidst war with Ukraine

Kathmandu, May 8. The Victory Day celebrations will take place in Russia on Monday. The victory day celebrations is the most anticipated events in the country.

Amidst war with Ukraine, Putin will addressing the event. The Victory Day Parade is celebrated to mark the end of World War II, when Nazi Germany surrendered.

Further, the parade is expected to take place in Moscow’s Red Square on May 9. Traffic and movements will be restricted until the same or next day.

According to reports from Russia’s foreign ministry, there will be 129 military vehicles and 10,000 personnel this year. In the previous year, there were 191 military vehicles and about 12,000 military personnel deployed for the event.

Moreover, the day is known as ‘Patriotic War’ locally. The event is expected to be used by Putin to demonstrate military power and patriotism in the country.
