German parliament approves three months of cheaper public transportation
Kathmandu, May 20. The German parliament has approved for three months of cheaper transportation rates. On Friday, the German parliament approved for public transportation being accessible for just 9 euros per month.
Further, the government is also planning for three month cut in fuel taxes. The cut prices of the transport will be valid in public trains and buses across Germany during the months of June, July and August.
The plan is expected to lighten the burden of increasing fuel prices due to Russia-Ukraine war. Moreover, cheaper tickets are expected to encourage people of climate-friendly travel.
Transport Minister Volker Wissing said the plan could crowd buses and trains, but would require patience from the public.
