Nepal’s nomadic tribe gets security allowance worth 17.3 Lakh rupees
Kathmandu June 1. The Ward 8 office of Dailekh’s Gurans Rural Municipality has distributed social security allowance to nomadic “Raute” people.
Ward chairman Deependra Oli told reporters that all of the 144 Raute members received Rs 12,000 as a three-month allowance ( for the months of Magh, Falgun, and Chaitra).
Because each member receives a monthly allowance of Rs 4000, the total distribution for the three months was Rs 17,28,000.
The Raute community practices shifting lifestyle across the Dailekh, Surkhet, Salyan, and Jajarkot districts of Karnali province. They are currently dwelling in Banka Thalaha of Jajarkot’s Chhedagad municipality.
In 2018, the federal government instructed the ward office to provide identity cards to Raute members because the nomadic tribe mostly dwells in the Dailekh area. Since then, the community has been receiving social security allowance every month.
