Funeral tractor crashes in Chainpur of Sankhuwasabha; Two killed, 23 injured and Eight in critical condition

Kathmandu, July 8. At least two people were killed and 31 others sustained serious injuries when a tractor crashed on the Khandbari-Leguwa road section.
The Sankhuwasabha District Police Office confirmed that the accident took place on Friday in the road section at Dumkata of Chainpur municipality Ward number 10.
“The tractor (number plate:Ko 2 Ta 3961) was carrying people who were returning home after attending a funeral.. the tragedy killed 24-year-old Ganga Bahadur Tamang and 24-year-old Keshab Karki.” Inspector Saroj Khanal said.
Khanal further continued, “The injured are undergoing treatment at the Sankhuwasabha district hospital and Tumlingtar’s Community Hospital… the condition of eight of the injured are reported to be critical, they are now transferred to Dharan’s BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences”
Khanal also said that the 34-year-old tractor driver Mohan Kumar Tamang was detained by the police.
