Police raid an illegal call centre in Tinkune; 36 people arrested from Sky World Services Center
Kathmandu, July 25. A total of 36 persons including foreigners have been held from the Capital City for illegally operating a call center. The alleged were arrested from Sky World Services Center at Tinkune in Kathmandu on Monday.
Spokesperson of Nepal Police Tek Bahadur Rai said the arrestees are one Chinese national, two Indians, and 33 Nepalis.
Rai said the arrested were nabbed for unlawful activities online, including issuing threats, hacking, tapping personal and confidential information, and seeking money, among others.
Police also recovered Rs 829,000 in cash, 748 desktop computers, and other devices.
After the raid, police recovered electronic devices from the arrested ones.
Earlier on Sunday, police arrested many people from Rupandehi for their involvement in running a similar call center.
