Spain faces wrath of sky with giant hailstones
One toddler killed, others injured

Kathmandu, September 1. A hailstorm in the Catalonia region in Spain killed a toddler and injured fifty others. The weather fury that occurred on Tuesday, had hailstones upto 4 inches(10cms) in diameter.
According to reports, it the largest to rain since 2002. The hailstones shattered windows, damaged roofs and downed power cables.
The hailstorm lasted for ten minutes. One toddler injured by a hailstorm was admitted to a local hospital, but later died of injuries. The injuries reported to other people were broken bones and bruises.
Further, according to AFP, councillor Carme Vall said, “The hail only fell for 10 minutes, but it was 10 minutes of terror.”
Catalonia’s meteorological service revealed hailstorms could occur through the year, but mostly recorded in the months of March through September.
