Former Tata Group chairman Cyrus Mistry dies in road accident

Kathmandu, September 4. Former Tata Group chairman Cyrus Mistry died in a car accident in Maharastra, India on Sunday. He was 54.

Mistry was traveling from Ahmedabad to Mumbai in a Mercedes car. A police official said, “The accident took place around 3.15 pm, when Mistry was travelling to Mumbai from Ahmedabad. The accident took place on a bridge over the Surya river. It seems an accident.”

Along with Mistry, Jahangir Dinshaw Pandole died in the accident. Two other people who were traveling in the car, Anahita Pandole and Darius Pandole suffered injuries. They have been transferred to a hospital. Further, Anahita Pandole was driving the car.

Police have launched an investigation into the incident.

Mistry was voted out of Tata Sons board in 2016.
