Conservative leader Ulf Kristersson elected new Swedish Prime Minister

Kathmandu, October 17. Conservative leader Ulf Kristersson was elected as Sweden’s Prime Minister on Monday. For the first time, the conservative leader is also backed by the far-right Sweden Democrats.
Kristersson was elected with 176 votes in favor and 173 in against. Further, he announced on Friday to build a three-party government between his Moderate Party, the Christian Democrats and the Liberals, which got support in the parliament from far-right Sweden Democrats.
Moreover, the new government has revealed plans to cut off on taxes, stricter immigration policies, building of a new nuclear plant among others. The changes are in accordance with a policy deal made with the Sweden Democrats.
