EU approves arms funds and training for Ukrainians

Kathmandu, October 17. The European Union (EU) approved a plan to provide around 500 million euros ($486 million) and a military training to Ukrainians. The approval which was made on Monday.

Further, the funds are expected to help Ukraine buy arms and support their defense. The EU headquarters in a statement revealed the aim was to support Ukrainian military to “effectively conduct military operations” so that Ukraine can “defend its territorial integrity.”

Moreover, countries that are not a part of the bloc will also be allowed to put in efforts for the training. The training is expected to kick off by mid-November.

The mission aims to train 15,000 Ukrainian troops, mainly in Poland and Germany.
