Kathmandu, October 24. A new variant of covid named as ‘XBB’ has been found in Nepal.
Further, Dr Sameer Kumar Adhikari, joint-spokesperson at the Ministry of Health and Population revealed the news that the sub-variant ‘XBB’ has been detected in Nepal. It was identified in course of genomic sequencing of coronavirus infected people from different places in Nepal. Moreover, it was found out from cases recorded from August 21 to October 10.
The Ministry has urged people to follow precautions and follow health protocols as the festive season has kicked in. While 50 new covid cases are recorded daily, wearing masks, washing hands and maintaining distance could help in containing the disease.
