President Bhandari honored with WPL Trailblazer Award

Kathmandu, November 10. President Bidya Devi Bhandari received the ‘Women Political Leaders Trailblazer Award’ in Iceland. She was honored by the Women’s Political Leaders Forum in Iceland.
Further, President Bhandari was a keynote speaker at the event named as ‘Reykjavík Global Forum (Women Leaders)’. While she spoke that Nepal is investing in education, health and employment for an equal society, she also emphasized upon that voice of women should be at the forefront in decision-making.
Silvana Koch-Mehrin, the founder and president of Women Political Leaders (WPL), a forum of international women leaders, presented President Bhandari with the award on Wednesday.
President Bhandari is to return on November 12.
