Kathmandu, November 10. Ukraine has signed “Treaty on Amity and Cooperation in Southeast Asia” on Thursday. The peace accord was signed at Phnom Penh, Cambodia at the sidelines of the ASEAN Summit.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba signed the treaty that member countries will commit for “mutual respect for the independence, sovereignty, equality, territorial integrity and national identity of all nations.”
Further, the 10-member ASEAN condemned the Russian war but has avoided to blame Moscow, as a whole. During the UNGA resolution condemning Russian aggression, Vietnam and Laos abstained from voting, whereas rest of the eight members Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore and Thailand voted in favor.
Moreover, Ukrainian president Zelenskyy has addressed parliaments and summits around the world since the Russian invasion in February.
