Ukraine, allies launch ‘Grain from Ukraine’ to help poor African countries

Kathmandu, November 27. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy launched a program on Saturday to export grains worth $150 million to poor African countries. The program, which was launched during a summit in Kyiv is named “Grain from Ukraine”.
Zelenskyy said the amount was raised from more than 20 countries and the European Union. Further, prime ministers of Belgium, Poland and Lithuania and the president of Hungary attended the event.
Moreover, countries facing famine and drought in Africa will be receiving grains under the scheme. Ethiopia, Sudan, South Sudan, Somalia and Yemen are some of the countries that will be on the receiving end.
The world has received less grains since Russia invaded Ukraine in February.
