Kathmandu, November 28. Riots erupted in Brussels after Belgium lost to Morocco. Morocco won by 2-0 against Belgium during a match on Sunday.
People protested by setting fires on cars, electric scooters and throwing bricks on vehicles. In response, the police fired tear gas and water canons to disperse the crowds.
Brussels Mayor Philippe Close tweeted, “I condemn in the strongest terms the incidents of this afternoon. The police have already firmly intervened. I, therefore, advise against fans coming to the city centre. The police are doing all they can to maintain public order.”
Videos of the riots have been shared widely in social media. Further, around 100 police personnel were deployed to contain the incident.
Moreover, it is not clear whether the protests was between rival fans of the teams.
