Kathmandu, December 1. A reporter who asked a question after the meet of New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern and Finnish Prime Minister Sanna Marin has raised concerns.
New Zealand PM Ardern and Finnish PM Marin met in-person for a bilateral meeting on Wednesday. One of the reporters asked, “A lot of people will be wondering, are you two meeting just because you’re similar in age and have got a lot of common stuff there – when you got into politics and stuff – or can Kiwis actually expect to see more deals between our two countries down the line?”
Ardern was taken aback by the question and immediately gave a befitting reply, “My first question is whether anyone ever asked Barack Obama or (former New Zealand prime minister) John Key if they met because they’re of a similar age?”
She added that there is a large percentage of men in politics, which is a reality; and its not only because of gender that two women meet.
Marin was also immediate to add, “We are meeting because we’re prime ministers.”
A video of the event released in media has garnered warm response from the audience. The video has gathered over 3.5 million views. Watch the video below:
