India, Australia discuss to enhance defense cooperation

Kathmandu, December 10. India and Australia have been conducting joint exercises under ‘Austra Hind 22’. Major General Chris Field of the Australian Army talked upon ways to boost defense between the two countries with India’s Lt. General M.V. Suchindra Kumar, Deputy Chief of Army Staff (Strategy).

The joint exercise began in Rajasthan on November 28. Further, the the exercise is expected to continue till December 11.

Moreover, the troops of both the countries exchanged their expertise in drone technology during the drills.

According to the Indian Defense Ministry, “Aim of the exercise is to build positive military relations, imbibe each other’s best practices and promote the ability to operate together while undertaking multi-domain operations in Semi deserts terrain under a UN peace enforcement mandate”.

The yearly event ‘Austra Hind’ will be conducted alternatively in both countries.
