Top leaders meeting expected to reach conclusion for presidential election
Kathmandu, February 24. Despite focussing on multiple alternatives, the meeting of major political parties held to discuss presidential nominations failed to reach a conclusion. The four major parties agreed to meet again this evening to discuss the issue further.
Minutes after the meeting ended, Nepali Congress general secretary Gagan Kumar Thapa told reporters that the discussions were held on a positive note. However, we could not come to a conclusion. “We expect to find a conclusion through the next sitting scheduled today evening,” Thapa said.
The meeting was attended by Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal and major party leaders Sher Bahadur Deuba, Madhav Kumar Nepal, Upendra Yadav and several other politicalleaders.
