Nepal Police seized over 1 million counterfeit notes in three months

Kathmandu, March 26. Nepal Police Spokesperson, Deputy Inspector General of Police(DIG) Poshraj Pokharel announced on Sunday that the police department has confiscated counterfeit notes worth over 1 million rupees in the last three months.
The fake currency notes were seized during various raids conducted by the police in different parts of the country. The police headquarters office data shows that 22 people were arrested for their involvement in the transactions of counterfeit Nepali notes during this period.
DIG Pokharel has warned people to be cautious while dealing with cash transactions and urged them to report any suspicious activities related to counterfeit notes. He also stated that the Nepal Police is committed to cracking down on the illegal trade of counterfeit currency and will take strict action against those involved in such activities.
