Nepal’s youngest parliamentarian Sobita Gautam among top 15 contenders for “One Young World Politician of the Year” award
Kathmandu, June 25. Nepal’s youngest parliament member, 27-year-old Sobita Gautam, has secured a spot in the top 15 list of the the renowned “One Young World Politician of the Year” award.
Gautam is a central member and co-founder of the Rastriya Swatantrata Party. Her role and popularity has “propelled the party to become the fourth-largest political entity in the country,” said the award organizers.
The organizers further stated, “Sobita’s popularity serves as a catalyst for youth engagement in politics, ensuring that the voices of the young are effectively represented in decision-making processes.”
The “One Young World Politician of the Year” award acknowledges and honors exceptional politicians, aged 18 to 35, who utilize their positions to positively impact young people within their communities and countries.
Among the 15 finalists, five candidates will be honored with the prestigious award during the One Young World Summit in Belfast 2023.
