Unidentified Illness Strikes Tilagufa of Kalikot, Affecting 300+ Individuals
Kalikot, July 8. More than 300 people have fallen ill due to an unknown disease in Tilagufa Municipality-10. A medical team comprising members from the District Hospital and Tilagufa Municipality Hospital arrived at Rudu village on Friday upon receiving information about the spread of the disease.
According to Katak Mahat, the Information Officer at the District Public Health Office, the medical team conducted health tests on the patients and distributed medicines. The patients have exhibited various symptoms, including fever, throat pain, headache, tonsillitis, rashes on the face, and swelling limbs.
Furthermore, Mahat stated that a health camp was organized in the village, during which blood samples were collected from nine patients. These samples were subsequently sent to Surkhet for testing.
Dr. Tanka Prasad Acharya from Tilagufa Municipality Hospital mentioned that the majority of the patients are women and children. On Friday, 194 women and 117 men underwent checkups, with 206 of them being under the age of 15. All the patients have developed the same symptoms.
