Janaki, July 19: The Salt Trading Corporation Limited, Lumbini provincial office, has accumulated a total of 2,786 quintals of salt as of the previous fiscal year, 2022/23.
While speaking at the provincial office, Chief Mahesh Chaudhary revealed that the office imports a total of 234,000 quintals of salt annually from Khadaghoda in Gujarat, India. Each year, they distribute 36,000 to 38,000 quintals of salt to various remote areas under a subsidy program.
Chaudhary further noted that on Monday, 320 quintals of salt were supplied to Jumla as part of their ongoing distribution efforts.
For the current fiscal year, 2023/24, the provincial office has sent all relevant documents to Kathmandu to announce a new bidding process.
