Dengue Awareness Campaign Launched in Kavre

Kavre, July 21: The District Health Office in Kavre has initiated preparedness measures to control the potential spread of dengue fever in the district, which is currently at high risk.

While speaking at a recent meeting, Chief of District Health Office, Dr. Purushottam Sedhain, emphasized the importance of stakeholders’ cooperation in eradicating possible mosquito breeding sites and maintaining regular clean-ups in factories. The office is closely collaborating with the District Disaster Management Committee to tackle the situation effectively.

In addition to preventive actions, the district is actively engaged in clinical and laboratory efforts to minimize the risk of dengue transmission. Similarly, local levels, schools, and community health institutions have been urged to take proactive measures against dengue fever to protect the community.

Dr. Sedhain stated, “We have disseminated awareness-raising materials from the National Health Education Division of Epidemiology and Infectious Diseases Control to all local levels in the district through various communication channels.”

Kavre district reported its first cases of dengue fever. As of now, 680 individuals have been infected during this season, with Banepa Municipality recording the highest number of cases, totaling 487.
