Koshi Province Leads in Dengue Cases, Total Infections Rise
Kathmandu, July 26: As of the latest update, a total of 4,289 dengue patients have been reported across the country, according to the Epidemiology and Disease Control Division. This figure has seen an increase from the previous count of 2,930 patients as of 15 July.
By provinces, Koshi Province has recorded the highest number of dengue patients, with 2,754 cases reported. Bagmati follows with 776 cases, Gandaki with 344 cases, Sudurpaschim with 316 cases, Lumbini with 166 cases, Madhes with 22 cases, and Karnali with 20 cases.The disease has hit ten districts particularly hard, with 3,671 people being infected in Sunsari, Dhading, Kaski, Darchula, Kathmandu, Sankhuwasabha, Myagdi, Kanchanpur, Rupandehi, and Morang.
Dengue is transmitted among people through the bite of an infected Aedes species of mosquito. The Epidemiology and Disease Control Division highlights that the virus risks are notably high between the Nepali months of Asar, Saun, Bhadra, and Asoj.
