Rajbiraj, July 30: Dr. CK Raut, the National Chairperson of the Janamat Party, emphasized the need to address the recurring problems faced by farmers every year.
While speaking at the organization’s expansion and training program in Rajbiraj, Dr. Raut highlighted the challenges faced by farmers in Madhes, particularly the lack of access to fertilizers during crop plantation. He urged for swift actions to rectify this issue.
Dr. Raut pointed out that the Terai region possesses fertile land for food production, but productivity is hindered by the absence of well-placed irrigation facilities. He emphasized, “To increase productivity, it is essential to establish efficient irrigation systems in the region. Currently, farmers in Terai face disappointment during the planting season due to the scarcity of irrigation water.” Shifting focus, Dr. Raut expressed concerns about the syndicate system prevailing across the country, which he believes hampers the establishment of large industries.
He also revealed his efforts towards setting up a chemical fertilizers factory in Nepal with support from the Indian and German governments. Dr. Raut shared that India has positively responded to the initiative, fostering cooperation for the project.
Furthermore, Dr. Raut stressed the urgency of creating job opportunities within Nepal to discourage the youth from seeking employment in foreign countries.
