Promoting Peace and Tourism: Panauti-Namobuddha Peace Procession Set to Create Impact

Kavre, July 30 : A grand global peace procession, stretching from the historical and archeological city of Panauti to the serene tourism destination of Namobuddha, is set to take place on the occasion of World Peace Day.
Scheduled for September 23, the global peace cultural procession aims to spread messages of peace and goodwill worldwide. Prahlad KC, the Chairperson of Kavre Sewa Samaj, stated that the procession serves multiple purposes: imparting the importance of global peace and harmony, promoting tourism in Panauti and Namobuddha, fostering mutual goodwill between Hindus and Buddhists, and preserving local art and culture.
Various organizations, including Kavre Sewa Samaj, District Coordination Committee, local governments, citizens’ organizations, and social groups, have come together to host this significant event.
The procession is expected to be a spectacular showcase, not only protecting and promoting different religious, cultural, and historical heritages of Kavre but also elevating their recognition at national and international levels.
During a district-level interaction to brief about the peace procession, the hosts emphasized their commitment to maintaining the positive image of Panauti and Namobuddha. Additionally, local governments, entrepreneurs, and individuals have pledged their support and collaboration for the campaign.
The procession’s route is set to pass through the Panauti-based palace of Rajkumar festival, Panauti bazaar, Trivenighat, Sunthan, Itte, and Shankhu, before reaching the tranquil destination of Namobuddha. Spanning a distance of 9.8 kilometers, the procession is expected to conclude in approximately 3.5 hours.
