High-Stakes Rescue Mission: Australia’s Race to Save Sick Researcher in Icy Antarctica
Kathmandu, Sept 4: Australia is doing something very important. They are trying to rescue a researcher who is sick and far away in Antarctica. This place is very cold and snowy, and it’s hard to reach. They can’t use a plane because the weather is too harsh. So, they are sending a big ship called the RSV Nuyina to get to the researcher. It will take a few days to reach there.
The researcher needs special medical help, but we don’t know exactly what’s wrong. The ship they’re sending is very advanced and expensive. It can go pretty fast in icy waters. The place where the researcher is, called the Casey research station, is very far from where the ship is starting in Tasmania. There are not many people there during the winter, and it’s not easy to get help when someone is sick. Australia wants to make sure their people in Antarctica are safe and well.
