Tragic Sikkim Flood Claims 23 Lives, Search for Missing Soldiers Underway
Kathmandu, Oct 4: In a devastating event, 23 soldiers have lost their lives in Sikkim due to severe flooding caused by the overflowing Teesta River. The soldiers were stationed near the Chungthang Dam when torrential monsoon rains triggered the disaster.
Sikkim’s Chief Minister, Prem Singh Tamang, has initiated a search operation to locate the missing soldiers who were swept away by the raging floodwaters in Baradang around 1:30 AM.
