Snowfall Delights Sandakpur, Affects Normal Life
Mangalbare (Ilam), Dec 8: Snowfall has brought a winter wonderland to the Sandakpur area of upper Ilam.
Local resident Lakpa Sherpa reported that snowfall occurred in Jaubari and Kaalpokhari areas of Sandakpur Rural Municipality, which shares a border with India. The drop in temperature following the snowfall has affected daily life in the region.
The snowfall began on Thursday afternoon and has continued since then. Sandakpur, situated at an altitude of 3,636 meters, is in the higher region of the district.
Despite the disruptions caused by the snowfall, local youths are enjoying the snowy conditions. The area has also become a popular destination for tourists from other districts seeking to experience and relish the winter scenery. The snowfall sites are bustling with domestic tourists, according to locals.
