TIA Customs Office Apprehends Two Individuals with 14 Kilograms of Gold

Kathmandu, Dec 8: The Customs Office at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) has successfully apprehended two individuals in possession of 14 kilograms of gold.

On Thursday night, a team from the Customs Office intercepted Min Bahadur Ghale, a resident of Gorkha, and another individual who arrived via Fly Dubai’s FZ 573 flight. Customs Officer Ramesh Kunwar revealed that Ghale was found in possession of seven biscuit-shaped gold pieces concealed in clothing.

Acting on information provided by Ghale, another individual was arrested, as confirmed by Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Dinesh Raj Mainali, spokesperson for the Kathmandu Valley Police Office. Ghale is currently detained at the Koteswor Police Range and will be transferred to the TIA Office in Gaucharan for further investigations.

SSP Mainali stated that an investigation into the incident has been initiated to uncover the details surrounding the illegal possession of gold.
