England Secures Thrilling 28-Run Victory Over India in First Test
Kathmandu, Jan 28: In a gripping encounter, England emerged victorious in the first match of the Test series against India. Chasing a target of 231 runs set by England on the fifth day of the Test, India fell short and was bowled out for 202 runs, handing England a 28-run win.
The Test match saw England batting first and posting a total of 246 runs in the first innings, while India responded with a strong performance, scoring 436 runs and taking a substantial lead of 190 runs in the first innings. In their second innings, England managed to score 420 runs, setting a target of 231 runs for India.
Facing a challenging target, India fought hard but ultimately fell short, allowing England to take a 1-0 lead in the 5-match Test series. The second test is scheduled to commence on February 2, promising more cricketing action and excitement for fans.
