Locals in Damauli Agree to Demolish Houses for Muglin-Pokhara Road Expansion
Kathmandu, Feb 12: In Damauli market, Tanahun, residents have embraced the need for demolishing houses to facilitate the Muglin-Pokhara road expansion project. During an informal discussion at the Byas Municipality-2 ward office, locals expressed their willingness to accelerate the project by promptly demolishing roadside houses.
Engineers, along with officials from the Tanahun Chamber of Commerce and Industry, convened to devise a strategy for expediting the road expansion. Dhardhani Mishra, a resident of Byas Municipality-2 Main Chowk, pledged to kickstart the demolition of his house on February 1, signaling the community’s readiness to support the project’s progress.
Suresh Wagle, a ward member, urged cooperation from residents to hasten the demolition process, emphasizing the importance of timely action in the Damauli market area. Bishnu Prasad Pandey, the Engineer overseeing the Muglin-Pokhara Road Expansion Plan (Eastern Section), noted delays in removing structures at the Damauli headquarters but expressed optimism following the locals’ commitment to demolish 74 houses in the market area.
Progress on the road expansion is evident in Bandipur, Ambukhareni, and Chirkane, with significant advancements in the Bandipur and Ambukhaireni sections. The eastern section, spanning from Ambukhaireni to Jamune, has reached 44 percent completion, with construction of an arch design bridge over Damauli Madi river already underway.
The Muglin-Pokhara road expansion project, initiated on January 17, 2077, has made substantial strides since its commencement on 2nd Baisakh 2078. With collaborative efforts from residents and authorities, the project aims to enhance connectivity and infrastructure development in the region.
