Pregnant Woman Rescued by Helicopter
Myagdi, Feb 16: In a dramatic rescue operation today, a pregnant woman from Mudibagar in Wikat Dhawalagiri Rural Municipality-4 of Myagdi district was airlifted to safety by helicopter. Tulsa Budhathoki, a resident of Bagargaon, was in urgent need of medical assistance due to complications during her pregnancy.
The rescue mission was conducted in collaboration with the Ministry of Social Development and Health of Gandaki Province and Dhawalagiri Rural Municipality. Anisha Acharya, the co-coordinator of the health branch of Dhawalagiri Rural Municipality, explained that the woman experienced labor pains, accompanied by irregularities in the baby’s heartbeat, prompting the immediate need for medical intervention.
Recognizing the urgency of the situation, authorities swiftly arranged for a helicopter to transport Tulsa Budhathoki to Pokhara for specialized medical care. Acharya emphasized the critical nature of the rescue, citing delays in the opening of the uterus, decreasing blood pressure, and irregular heartbeat of the baby as pressing concerns.
The successful airlift of the pregnant woman highlights the collaborative efforts of local authorities and healthcare professionals in responding promptly to emergencies in remote areas. This timely rescue underscores the importance of accessible and efficient medical services, particularly in rural regions where transportation and healthcare facilities may be limited.
