Saalar Part 1 – Ceasefire’ Hits Box Office Milestone with ₹750 Crore, Sequel Shelved Indefinitely
Kathmandu, May 26: Prabhas’ action-packed saga ‘Saalar Part 1 – Ceasefire’, directed and written by Prashant Neel, was a box office sensation following its release on December 22, 2023, grossing an impressive ₹750 crore worldwide.
Excitement was high for the sequel, ‘Saalar Part 2 – Shouryang Parvam’, which promised to delve deeper into the conflict between the Saalar and Shouryang tribes. Actor Prithviraj Sukumaran, who portrayed Varada in the first installment, had confirmed that the script for the sequel was in its final stages and that shooting was set to begin soon.
However, fans are in for a surprise as the highly anticipated sequel has been shelved indefinitely. Reports indicate that differences between Prabhas and director Prashant Neel over the film’s story led to the project’s halt. Additionally, media reports suggest that the sequel’s future became even more uncertain after Prashant Neel shifted his focus to a new project with Jr. NTR.
In the meantime, Prabhas has several upcoming projects, including ‘Kalki 2898 AD’, ‘Raju Bhai’ directed by Maruti, and ‘Spirit’ helmed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga.
