Eknath Dhakal Emphasizes Self-Sufficiency in Agriculture on National Paddy Day

Kathmandu, Jun 29: On the occasion of the 21st National Paddy Day, Eknath Dhakal, a member of the House of Representatives, highlighted the need to encourage farmers towards self-sufficiency in agricultural production.

Participating in a paddy planting program at Chunikhel in Budhanilkanth Municipality of Kathmandu on Saturday, Dhakal, accompanied by his daughter Esther Dhakal, stressed the importance of supporting farmers to achieve self-sufficiency in agricultural production. Dhakal, a former minister, called on the government to facilitate the import and distribution of high-quality and advanced agricultural materials, seeds, agricultural chemicals, and equipment at affordable prices nationwide.

The paddy planting program was organized by the World Peace and Women’s Association Nepal. Nila Shrestha, president of the organizing organization, and leaders of Nepal Parivar Dal also took part in the event.
