Jumla, Aug 7: The Karnali Highway, which was blocked by landslides last night due to incessant rain, has become operational again.
Bir Bahadur JT, Information Officer of Road Division Jumla, reported that the highway is now open after clearing landslides in Gagnekhola and Kalekhola of Kalikot under the Surkhet-Jumla road section.
Hundreds of passengers were stranded when the highway from Jumla and Mugu to Surkhet, and Nepalganj to Kathmandu was blocked by landslides in several locations, including Gagnekhola and Kalekhola. The Road Division Office in Jumla noted that the road is narrow in Gagnekhola, making it difficult for large cargo trucks to pass.
