Kathmandu, Aug 8: Russian President Vladimir Putin has described the entry of some Ukrainian soldiers into the Kursk region as a provocative action by Ukraine.

Russia claims that Ukrainian forces, including 11 tanks and more than 20 armored fighting vehicles, crossed the border near the town of Sadkha.

According to reports on Wednesday afternoon, Russian Chief of General Staff Valery Gorasimov informed President Putin that Ukrainian forces were being prevented from advancing in the Kursk region. The Russian army is reportedly continuing to target the enemy at the border.

Gorasimov also stated that more than 1,000 Ukrainian soldiers crossed the border aiming to capture Sadkha, but the Russian army killed over 100 soldiers and injured more than 215.

Ukraine has not yet responded to Russia’s accusations. Officials report that thousands of local citizens have been forced to leave their homes due to the ongoing conflict.
